FoodCycler Expression of Interest Survey
April 15, 2025
This initiative, brought forward for Council’s consideration, would provide residents with a compact, in-home food waste recycling system that turns food scraps into nutrient-rich soil amendment.
How It Works:
The FoodCycler is a small appliance that dehydrates and grinds food waste, reducing its volume by up to 90% within hours.
The FoodCycler eliminates odors and makes it easy to divert food waste from the landfill, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and extending the life of our waste management system.
Benefits to the Community

The Town is looking for a minimum of 50 residents interested in participating in this pilot project.
If approved, participants would be able to purchase a FoodCycler unit at a discounted rate, then track data for 12 weeks to show its impact on food waste reduction in Mattawa. At the end of the trial period, the FoodCycler is yours to keep.
If you are interested in being part of this program or have questions, please fill out the attached survey or contact us at 705-744-5611.
