The Mattawa Landfill Site is owned and operated by the Town of Mattawa
NO SCAVENGING IS PERMITTED AT THE LANDFILL SITE
Site Location
1161 Richards Road, Township of Papineau-Cameron
Town of Mattawa, Municipality of Mattawan and Township of Papineau-Cameron Residents are permitted to use the Mattawa Landfill Site.
Hours of Operation
Residential Refuse
Open Every Saturday 9am – 12 Noon
Commercial Refuse is not permitted on Saturdays
Commercial Refuse
Open every Tuesday and Thursdays
Contractors may access the Landfill Site by Appointment Only (with 24 hours notice) from 8am to 11:45 am and 1:15 pm to 3:45 pm
Additional Item (Freon)
A cost recovery system is in place for items brought to the Landfill Site that require the removal of Freon (ie: air conditioner units, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, dehumidifiers, water coolers, etc.) This cost recovery system will be based on the actual cost of Freon removal services.
Household Hazardous Waste
Residents of the Town of Mattawa may take their Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) the Hazardous Waste Depot in North Bay free of charge. The Depot is open year-round and is open Wednesday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. For more information please call the Wasteline at 705-474-0400, ext. 2333

E-Waste
Residents of the Town of Mattawa, Municipality of Mattawan and Township of Papineau-Cameron residents can deposit electronic waste at the Landfill Site. Waste Electronics include waste electronics and electrical equipment, rechargeable and single use batteries.
